4. Important public health indicators

Section 4 describes congenital anomaly prevalence in relation to important public health indicators such as infant and perinatal mortality, pregnant person age and deprivation. The sections describing pregnant person age (section 4.2) and deprivation (section 4.3) refer only to births in England; births in the Crown Dependencies have been excluded as denominators for these characteristics are not available.
