Current chapter – Key findings

April 2025 to June 2025

For the period April 2025 to June 2025, NHS organisations reported:

93% of providers use Electronic Patient Records (EPR)

But only 30% have fully integrated bi-directional data flows

This limits system-wide productivity

Almost all providers say their staff can access a Shared Care Record (ShCR)

About 90% of them can do this directly

For example through their EPR or with a single sign-on to the ShCR system

All ICBs have commissioned virtual wards (aka Hospital at Home, ‘H@H’)

But only 86% of providers said they have H@H, and two thirds of these said they can share data digitally with clinical teams to support H@H decision-making

90% of providers have a central data repository

Two-thirds of these include both clinical and non-clinical data, like operational or HR information
