NHS Apply for Care ID release 3.13.0

Planned maintenance release on 18 December 2025 (subject to final approval).

Release summary

Apply for Care ID will release version 3.13.0 on 18 December 2025, subject to final approval.

Included in this release:

  • enhanced use of AWS Rekognition to detect the document, validate the document type and crop images
  • a new feature, AWS Rekognition facial occlusion tests
  • advanced Textract payload scan to clean and label data
  • document validity checks now read from the new clean data
  • the image normalisation process has been refined to ensure that the best version of the document image is subjected to validity and authenticity testing
  • all labelled Textract data (labelled both by Textract and IDV) is now validated before being accepted, to minimise labelling errors
  • high resolution templates have been added to increase the accuracy of template matching

We expect there to be no downtime during the release.

Errors after the release

There is a small chance that after this release, Apply for Care ID users may see a blank screen or loading error. If this happens, please try these steps:

  • force a reload of the page - press Ctrl + F5 (on some computers this can be Fn + F5)
  • clear your browser's cache - press Ctrl + Shift + Delete

Adding an email domain

If you have a Registration Authority Manager or Agent role and you would like to request a new domain to be added, check the CIS allow-list first, and then complete a webform request.
