We're adding new notifications to CIS2 Authentication, reminding users that they need to renew their smartcard. These new notifications will go live on 5 November 2026.
This only affects people using Smartcard Connect to log in.
These are the reminders you'll start to see:
- 90 days before your smartcard is due to expire
- every 7 days after that, until 14 days before the expiry date
- from 14 days before expiry, a reminder every day until the expiry date
