Part 4: Affordability and expenditure
Introduction
The data has not yet been published by OHID, but when it is it will appear on the Fingertips tool and willl have similar navigation for both Alcohol and Tobacco.

Data on the average weekly household expenditure on various comodities is provided in the Family spending in the UK reports and may be of interest.
Affordability and Expenditure on Alcohol
Has not yet been published. However, when it is available it will be as part of the Alcohol Profile.
In the meantime, as the data that is used to calculate the measures is publically accessible it can be calculated using the methodology described in earlier Statistsics on Public Health in Appendix A.4 and B.4.
Affordability and Expenditure on Tobacco

Other data sources
Family spending in the UK (Office for National Statistics)
An insight into the spending habits of UK households, broken down by household characteristics and types of spending. The report considers expenditure by UK constituent country and English region.
Tobacco tax statistics (HM Revenue & Customs)
Data on the availability of tobacco is provided in UK Tobacco Duty Statistics which covers duty on cigarettes, cigars, hand rolling tobacco (HRT) and other types of tobacco such as pipe and chewing tobacco.
Data on the illicit tobacco market is provided Tobacco tax gap estimates reports which presents estimates of the tax gap for tobacco products. The tax gap is the difference between the amount of tax that should be collected against what is actually collected.
Tobacco Control (Chartered Trading Standards Institute)
The Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI) has produced various reports relating to its activities around tobacco sales, often in conjunction with Public Health England and/or the Department of Health and Social Care.
