NHS App Management Information - April 2026

The full time series has been revised following improvements to data processing. As a result, some figures in this release may differ from those previously published. These revisions improve the accuracy and consistency of the data over time.

The time series has been extended to include data from December 2020 onwards, where figures are available.

NHS App users’ GP practices have been mapped to the new Integrated Care Board (ICB) structure, which came into effect on 1 April 2026. As a result, figures at ICB level are not directly comparable with those published in previous releases.

This release introduces a number of new measures relating to the National Patient Prescription Tracking Service and its features within the NHS App, including pharmacy site coverage, patient enablement, service usage, and “Ready to Collect” notifications.

An England-level CSV has been introduced to improve accessibility and usability of the data. This provides national-level figures separately from the existing ICB-level CSV.

An issue affecting NHS App account registrations data was identified during the production of this release. As a result, these figures were temporarily removed while the issue was investigated.

National-level new and all-time account registration figures have now been reinstated to Table 1 of the Excel summary file and to the England-level CSV. ICB and regional-level figures remain under investigation and will be reinstated as soon as possible.
