You can expect that up to 30% of registrations will be processed via auto registration. Practices using auto registration have found it saves them between 5-10 minutes per submission.  

This will free up more of your time to focus on post-registration activities and other aspects of patient care. 

Reduces paperwork and admin

With auto registration, you won’t need to:  

• print out patient registration emails 

• manually accept eligible patients  

• create patient records  

• allocate a named GP

All the hard work is done for you. You will just need to review the record and input a small amount of patient information, if these fields have been completed by the patient in their application.

Free to use

Auto registration from NHS England and TPP/SystmOne does not cost you anything. The more registrations you can process through auto registration, the bigger the savings you can make on RPA costs. 

Easy to switch on and off

You can turn auto registration on and off at any time in NHS Profile Manager.  

95% of patients who meet the criteria for auto registration can be confirmed as patients at your practice within 2 hours of registering. 

This will help increase patient satisfaction around registering with your practice. 

You can email your practice name and ODS code to [email protected] and we’ll enable auto registration for you. 

That’s all you need to do! Once it’s done, you won’t need to do anything else. If a patient who applies to register at your practice meets the auto registration criteria, a record will be created for them in your systems. You will get a notification in SystmOne in your Open Tasks list.
