Patient Data Manager roadmap
Future changes planned and past changes delivered for Patient Data Manager (PDM).
Roadmap
The PDM roadmap outlines the high-level objectives and projects we are planning to deliver in the coming months.
The roadmap was last reviewed by the team in June 2025.
Now
- Transactional use cases can store and retrieve publicly specified, re-usable FHIR resources from a centrally-managed and secure data store
- PDM in private beta with Healthchecks Online
- PDM users benefit from a centralised audit capability to support Subject Access Requests
Next
- The Digital Letters team can store and retrieve unstructured data and clinical documents
- Application developers benefit from simplified IG with centralised data retention and governance
- Non-transactional use cases can store and retrieve publicly specified re-usable FHIR resources from a centrally managed secure data store
- PDM Data consumers can subscribe to real-time events using the Multicast Notification Service (MNS)
Later
- Any use case meeting the specification, can self-onboard to store and retrieve publicly specified, re-usable FHIR resources from a centrally-managed and secure data store
- Data publishers can benefit from automatic validation against UK core standard
- Internal product teams can benefit from a bulk-ingest and transform pipeline using MESH
