Background
The Networks and Connectivity Programme is part of Frontline Productivity portfolio of work supporting networks and connectivity transformation activity.
The Networks and Connectivity Centre of Excellence exists to define, promote, and uphold national standards for secure, resilient, and high‑quality network and connectivity infrastructure and provision across the NHS, focused across the following core investment priorities:
- provide the NHS workforce with improved connectivity off the NHS estate
- provide the workforce with improved access to wireless connectivity across sites with simplified unified access
- enable NHS providers to ensure robust and resilient core network infrastructure to support continued digital transformation and support workforce productivity
The Centre of Excellence provides strategic leadership, expert guidance, and targeted support to help organisations identify and address infrastructure and provision gaps, prioritise investment, and strengthen the digital foundations required for safe, effective, and integrated care, in hospitals, communities and neighbourhoods.
Through collaboration with industry partners, government, and providers, the CoE fosters innovation and best practice, supporting every NHS worker to access to reliable connectivity, and enabling locally led transformation.
