COVID Vaccine Invitation Preference Service
Allow patients to opt in or out of receiving notifications from the NHS to get a COVID-19 vaccination.
About this service
The National COVID Vaccine Invitation Preference service (NCVIPS) enables patients to either choose to receive or to opt out of receiving notifications from the NHS to get a COVID-19 vaccination.
Patients can make their choice in two ways:
- online at the NHS website
- by calling 119
The preference will be updated on the patient's national NHS record.
Patients are able to change their mind regarding their preference at any time.
Who this service is for
Patients
Patients can access the service directly via the NHS website or by calling 119.
Health and care workers
Health and care workers working within NHS 119 are required to update the patient's preferences where a patient does not have access to the internet. They do this using the same NHS website form.
Status and service level
NCVIPS is live.
This service is a silver service, meaning it is available and supported 24 hours a day, 365 days a year from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday excluding bank holidays.
How to access this service
Patients can make their choice in two ways:
- online at the NHS website
- by calling 119
Health and care workers can update preferences for patients who do not have access to the internet via the NHS website.
