Roadmap for the National Care Records Service
This roadmap outlines the high-level objectives we are working on and what we are planning to deliver to the National Care Records Service (NCRS) in the next few months.

October to December 2025
- Improved performance and reliability through targeted infrastructure upgrades
- Delivered incremental usability improvements informed by user feedback and research
- Completed technical delivery of GP Connect integration to support a planned 2026 pilot
January to March 2026
- Piloting GP Connect 'Access Document' functionality with two ambulance services and GP practices in selected Integrated Care Boards (ICB)
- Expanding access to GP clinical information through additional GP Connect integrations
- Increasing interoperability with local Shared Care Records (ShCR) to enable smoother access across care settings
- Continuing infrastructure modernisation to strengthen resilience and support future capability
- Reducing technical debt and improving monitoring, supportability and overall service stability
April to June 2026
- Rolling out expanded GP information access beyond pilot organisations
- Delivering new clinical data views tailored to specific clinician roles and use cases
- Introducing targeted usability refinements to streamline common workflows
- Continuing platform enhancements to improve performance, security and scalability
