Chromium based browsers have introduced a new browser permissions prompt.

What this means for you

If you are authenticating with a smartcard, you will need to select 'Allow'.

We are seeing an increased number of calls to the service desk related to:

• Error 400_645
• am.nhsidentity.spineservices.nhs.uk accept/block prompt

These errors are typically related to the latest Chromium browser updates and can block smartcard functionality.

Why we are doing this

We are seeing an increased number of calls into the service desk as the default option is to block. In order to improve the user experience, we've updated our instructions so they more clearly point towards the correct steps.
