Authenticator app reset
As part of our commitment to improving our CIS2 Authentication options, we have added functionality for users who are self-claiming their identity to reset their authenticator app if it has been locked.
What this means for you
If you have been asked to create a Care Identity profile to use an NHS service such as NHS Service Finder, we have allowed for users (who do not have a dedicated Registration Authority, IT or smartcard team) to reset their authenticator app if it gets locked.
The option to reset your authenticator app can be found by navigating to the service you want to access (NHS Service Finder) and selecting the link to 'Reset your authenticator app'.

Why we are doing this
We are strengthening the position and security of users accessing national services such as NHS Service Finder by adding multi-factor authentication options (one time passcode) with the authenticator app.
