NHS Care Identity Service - Release 12.0

We are releasing an update to CIS Auth services on Wednesday 14 January 2026 between 20:00 and 22:00.

There will be no downtime and smartcard authentication is not affected.

This release includes:

• security patching of EC2 hosts
• removal of redundant EFS volumes
