Care Identity Management release 8.7

Due for release on 26 January 2026.

Release summary

Care Identity Management release 8.7 goes live on 26 January 2026, subject to final approval. 

This release includes:

  • a fix for an issue where local smartcard unlockers were able to unlock expired smartcards
  • updates to error text within the self-service add authenticator application
  • a fix for an issue where the case of an email address added during profile creation was not always registered correctly in the database
  • other backend changes and improvements

We expect there to be no downtime during the release.

Errors after the release

There is a small chance that after this release, visitors to Care Identity Management may receive a blank screen or loading error. If this happens, please try these steps:

  • force a reload of the page - press Ctrl + F5 (on some computers this can be Fn + F5)
  • clear your browser's cache - press Ctrl + Shift + Delete
