Care Identity Management release 8.34

Care Identity Management release 8.34 goes live on 30 July 2026, subject to final approval.

This release includes:

• AAL3 passkeys - support to register, view and remove AAL3 passkeys, through both Registration Authority-led and self-service journeys
• introduction of the ability to remove non-smartcard authenticators from your own Care ID, reducing reliance on Registration Authorities for routine authenticator management and strengthening support for modern CIS2 authentication methods

We expect there to be no downtime during the release.

After this release, there is a small chance that you may receive a blank screen or loading error in Care Identity Management. If this happens, please try clearing your browser's cache by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Delete.
