The NHS Research SDE Network Concierge Service
The Concierge Service helps researchers find and access the right data, tools, and services across the NHS Research Secure Data Environment (SDE) Network. This is especially useful for researchers who need to use multiple SDEs or are unsure which one best fits their needs.
Support for researchers
The Concierge Service can support researchers to find the right data or patient cohorts for their projects. We can also provide guidance on using the SDE Network's tools and services, and support for complex projects such as integrating external data, supporting AI projects or starting a multi-SDE project.
- Explore the data, tools, services available within the SDE Network to support your project's aims
- Explore multi-custodian collaboration opportunities
- Work with data across several SDEs or link up with data providers outside the SDE Network, such as private healthcare providers or local authority ethnographic or demographic data sources
Areas of assistance
The Concierge Service can help with a wide range of enquiries. For example, you may want support:
- where the patient cohort may not be easily identifiable through existing clinical codes
- to collaborate with the SDE Network on data augmentation or enrichment for a specific disease area
- to understand the feasibility of a treatment for patients with rare diseases, where data from multiple regions would be required
Initial enquiries
The Concierge Service aims to process all requests quickly but high demand can sometimes mean longer lead times. If possible, we advise researchers to start by contacting the SDE that is best suited for their specific project. The SDE team will be able to provide expertise on the data and services available to support your project and can bring in other SDEs as required.
