This is the 2013 Annual Report of the Second National Oesophago-Gastric Cancer Audit (NOGCA). A print friendly version of Appendix 4 is also available.
The results presented in this report are based upon patients diagnosed with oesophago-gastric cancer between 1 April 2011 and 31 March 2012.
It also provides a comparison with the findings of the First National Oesophago-Gastric Cancer Audit that began in October 2006.
The report considers:
- Patterns of referral of oesophago-gastric cancer patients
- Appropriateness of staging investigations
- Curative treatment patterns
- Outcomes of curative surgery
- Palliative treatment patterns
National Oesophago-gastric Cancer Audit 2013 Annual Report - Updated 30 August 2013:Appendix 3 of this report was updated on 3 September 2013 and uploaded as a separate pdf document. Records were excluded from the initial analyses when certain data items were missing. Only data for three Trusts reported in Appendix 3 were affected.
