This is the 2013 Annual Report for the National Bowel Cancer Audit. The report is prepared by the HSCIC in partnership with the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland (ACPBGI) and the Royal College of Surgeons (RCS).
The results presented in this report are based upon patients diagnosed with bowel cancer between 1st April 2011 and 31st March 2012.
A supportive document contains details on data processing involved in producing the Annual Report. A Frequently Asked Questions document is also provided.

This report was updated on 22.07.13: Due to an error in production, values in table 6.5 for The Isle of Wight NHS trust were omitted, also table 6.3, 6.4, and 6.5 have been updated to add clarity on the meaning of empty cells.
This publication was produced in two parts: the Annual Report was published 3 July 2013 and the Scottish data was published 5 February 2014.
This report was updated on 19.03.2014: Due to an error in production, the spread sheet version of Appendix 6.1 did not reflect the data in the Annual Report. This only affected The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust.
