About this publication

NHS England is planning to replace the data source for this publication with a new data set generated using the General Practice Extraction Service (GPES). The new data set will include people with a learning disability, autistic people and those with ADHD and will address some of the limitations of the current data source (e.g. poor coverage in many parts of the country).

The first report based on the new data is planned for Summer 2027 and this will replace the annual Health and Care of People with Learning Disabilities (HCPLD) publication. Due to resource constraints in NHS England, there will be no HCPLD publication in December 2026. Please read this Briefing for more information.
