Summary
There are inequalities in health. For example, people living in more deprived areas tend to have shorter life expectancy. The following indicators are to monitor the effects of deprivation on health.
For information on the definitions of what these indicators include, please see the relevant specification.
Please note that all LBOI indicators stratified by deprivation quintile and Slope Inequality Index (SII) have been discontinued and there will be no future updates.
Data Sets
- Emergency admissions, directly age standardised rate by deprivation quintile, persons, all ages
- Mortality from all cancer, directly age standardised rate by deprivation quintile, persons under 75 years
- Mortality from all circulatory diseases, directly age standardised rate by deprivation quintile, persons under 75 years
- Mortality from lung cancer, directly age standardised rate by deprivation quintile, persons under 75 years
- Percentage of low birth weight births, by deprivation quintile
- Slope Index of Inequality (SII) for all cancer mortality by local deprivation quintiles, person under 75s
- Slope Index of Inequality (SII) for circulatory disease mortality, based on local deprivation quintiles, person under 75s
- Slope Index of Inequality (SII) for emergency admissions, based on local deprivation quintiles, person, all ages
- Slope Index of Inequality (SII) for lung cancer mortality by local deprivation quintiles, person under 75s
- Slope Index of Inequality (SII) for percentage of low birth weight births, based on local deprivation quintiles
