Summary

The indicators presented measure the percentage of emergency admissions to any hospital in England occurring within 30 days of the last, previous discharge from hospital backdated to 2014/15.

Methodology

There are four datasets that make up this series and each has a separate specification:

Emergency readmissions to hospital within 30 days of discharge : indirectly standardised percent trends broken down by age bands and sex (I02040)

Emergency readmissions to hospital within 30 days of discharge by diagnosis : indirectly standardised percent trends broken down by sex (I02041)

Emergency readmissions to hospital within 30 days of discharge by procedure : indirectly standardised percent trends broken down by sex (I02042)
