As an MaaS tool, Paradise can be distributed in whichever way affiliates see fit, and has been observed being delivered in both spam and phishing campaigns as well as through drive-by-downloads on compromised sites.
Once installed on a device, Paradise will delete Shadow Volume Copies before encrypting all non-system files on fixed, removable and networked drives using an RSA algorithm. It will then append the encrypted files with a number of different extensions depending on its version before placing a ransom note in each subfolder.
