An ELEMENT to represent the medicinal product or substance prescribed, non-prescribed, administered, or dispensed. The class
includes any pharmaceutical or biologic product including DM+D concepts for VMP/AMP, VMPP/AMPP, and VTM but is not restricted
to it. Non DM+D concepts may also be represented.
The medicinal product may optionally include the dose form which is the description of the presentation of a medicine e.g.
tablet, injection, suspension etc. [ePS].
A prescribed, non-prescribed (e.g. ‘over the counter’) or recommended medication taken or to be taken by the patient.
Typically, the medicinal product name takes the form which includes the medicinal name + strength + form + unit dose. The
product may also include the device used for administration.
