ELEMENT Constrained Domain Model: AllergiesOrAdverseReactionPropensity

A constrained ELEMENT to represent that a patient has a propensity for an allergic reaction or adverse reaction to a substance, food or drug1. An allergy or adverse reaction propensity element is used to populate the patient's allergy and adverse reactions list. This is a list of all the substances/drugs/food that a person is at future risk of having an adverse reaction or allergy to. Ideally there should be only one entry per drug/substance/food/causative agent2. It is not required for there to be a corresponding Allergy or Adverse Reaction Event element for each Allergy Or Adverse Reaction Propensity element4. NOTE: The LRA Discharge Summary requirement for 'newPropensityFlag' can be derived value from the date the allergy or adverse reaction was identified. It is calculated on basis of allergies recorded after admission of patient in this hospital care spell. Require Date of Admission and Date of Identification to derive whether an Allergy is a New propensity 1: NPFIT-FNT-TO-DPM-0725.06 - NPfIT Message Implementation Manual 7.2.02 2. Attributes

Name Data type Occurs Description Value constraints
name SC 1..1 The name, expressed as a coded value or as plain text, specifies the clinical or administrative concept to which this EHR node corresponds, as labelled in the EHR system in which it was first committed.
value
Literal value(s): FINDING_OBSERVATION_ELEMENT
rc_id II.Uuid 1..1 The globally-unique identifier by which this node in the EHR hierarchy is referenced in the EHR system to which the data were first committed. This identifier shall be retained by the EHR Recipient and re-used whenever this RECORD_COMPONENT is subsequently included in another EHR_EXTRACT.
meaning CD.CV 1..1 A code to describe a propensity to an allergic or adverse reaction.
code
Semantic expression constraint
code
Literal expression constraint
synthesised BL 1..1 This attribute value shall be TRUE if this RECORD_COMPONENT has been created in order to comply with this standard , but this point in the EHR hierarchy has no corresponding node in the EHR from which it was extracted.
obs_time IVL_TS 0..1 The date and time, or interval, at which the propensity to an allergic or adverse reaction was present.
value ANY 1..1 An ELEMENT has a single DATA_VALUE containing the value, unless this is indicated as absent by a null_flavour attribute.
nullFlavor
Literal value(s): NA
