An ELEMENT to represent a device used to enable a patient to comply with their medication requirements. E.g. pill dispensers,
medication reminder electronic devices etc. Compliance devices are not mandatory for the consumption/administration of a medication
but are an aid to help the patient to consume the correct medication at the prescribed time and quantity.
NOTE: A request for a compliance device is sometimes made for discharge medications where compliance may be an issue. However
on discharge from a hospital a patient will usually get 7 days supply of medication and so ensuring continuing top up of the
compliance device can be an issue. Not all pharmacies will supply these and generally District Nurses or a Home help will
not fill the device. In some instances it is possible for the G.P. to make an arrangement with a pharmacy to ensure supply.
