Logical Record Architecture for Health and Social Care

Discharge Summary Release 0.02

The content of this release is not comprehensive and is not fully validated and must not be used in live system implementations.

Reference Model Class: QSC

This class is parameterised for quantities (QTY). It allows specification of a pre-existing QSET pattern using a code specification. The current coded content specified in ISO 21090 only specifies time patterns (as QSET(TS)) in a country dependent fashion. However QSC(TS) in the LRA may be used to specify prototypical time patterns such as medication regimens or timings of specific care plans.

Attributes

Name Data type Occurs Description
code GTSabbreviation 1..1 The ISO 21090 constraint that QSC.code must be take from the GTSAbbreviation HL7 code set is implemented in the LRA but using an LRA specific profile of the GTS vocabulary. Specific coded time patterns based on significant timings in the NHS may be developed for the LRA and referred to using that LRA specific vocabulary. Conforming systems may choose to represent the time pattern internally as they choose, but where a specific QSC(TS).code is defined and mandated conforming systems MUST represent those times using an appropriate QSC(TS) to ensure computational equivalence between systems. Thus a QSC(TS) for '4 hour A&E waiting time' may be defined and where a conforming system has an equivalent timing it MUST represent that as a QSC(TS) on LRA conformant interfaces. This constraint is applied through the use of specific LRA vocabulary and is not formally expressed here.
