  • Specification
    • Rebranded to HSCIC.
    • The description for the handlingSpecifications within the ITK Implementation page has been updated to reflect changes to the ITK architecture as part of ITK version 2.1.
    • The Data Types Specification has been updated to align to the HL7v3 CDA Release 2 Normative Edition, May 2005 ballot.
  • Core Schemas
    • The core schemas have been changed to align closer to CDA ballot 2005. This change was to resolve historical data type issues.

  • Specification
    • The status of the ITK Correspondence pack that uses this CDA correspondence domain has been changed to final. This CDA correspondence domain's status has also been changed to final to reflect this change.
    • The headers and footers have been amended for the Template Reference page.

    • Generic CDA, Nullification and TMS Infrastructure specifications now located in Associated Specifications folder.

    • Added ITK Implementation wrapped payloads (using the Distribution Envelope) to ITK Implementation message examples.
  • Transforms and schematrons
    • Removed from the specification. Note these are now downloadable from TRUD with message validation tools in the "Interoperability Specifications Tooling Pack"

    • New icons for style sheet and guidance added to core folder.
  • Encompassing Encounter template
    • COCD_TP146360GB02-EncompassingEncounter upversioned template replaces previous version (01). Supports usage of the CDAEncounterSnCT vocabulary (in the absence of any local vocabulary). Note the previous version of the template is deprecated and remains in the NPFIT-000001#Act constraint to support backwards compatibility.
  • Attachment template
    • COCD_TP146224GB02-Attachment upversioned template is included to allow the authoring participants of device and team (workgroups) in the NPFIT-000081#Role constraint.
  • Text section template
    • COCD_TP146061UK02-TextSection upversioned template is included to allow the coding of text sections in the NPFIT-000001#Section constraint, this constraint has a more detailed Template Usage Guidance, than the previous DMS release.
  • Ambulance Report model
    • POCD_RM160001UK06 now has RecipientOrganizationUniversal (COCD_TP145203GB03) and RecipientPersonUniversal (COCD_TP145202GB02) templates upversioned. IntendedRecipient role classes now have an optional addr class attribute.
    • Existing RecipientChoice templates remain in constraint to support backwards compatibility. Where the older and newer version of a template are present, the older version is deprecated.
  • Tabular views
    • All Role Template Tabular Views now have new style descriptions with the information for each model attribute having two sections following : 'HL7 Model Attribute Description' and 'Implementation in XML Instance'.
  • Glossary
    • Updated to include new terms and definitions.
  • Guidance
    • A new document included in vocabularies, explaining the Format of the ClinicalDocument.code (Representing_ClinicalDocument_Code.htm) is included.
  • Vocabularies
    • New vocabularies added:

  • N/A
    • The NonXMLBody has been added to the message to carry a file (like PDF) instead of the Structured Body.
    • A new coded entry template, called "Attachment" (COCD_TP146224GB01), has been created which can carry multimedia information. This template is only for multimedia that is logically part of the attested content of the document.
    • All messages within this specification have been changed to support alternative transport layers other than TMS. This approach is being referred to as universalisation.
